Editor / Corporate Video Producer / Owner of Renegade Digital Post

Rachel Bastarache Bogan

I’m an editor and corporate video producer from Denver, CO. After five years of being the “one-man-band” in video production I realized that I love editing and hate shooting. Then I realized that there had to be folks out there who loved shooting and hated editing. In 2015 I started Renegade Digital Post, specializing in post-production and remote editing for small and mid-sized video producers across the US. Whether it’s fixing another editor’s edit, taking a project brief to final production, or just being handed a pile of footage and told, “you deal with it,” I’m in love.

Building my own business has had its challenges. Small to mid-sized producers working in industrials, promotions and marketing materials don’t always think of working with a remote editor. But as more and more workflows transition online, more producers want to do it. Meeting these needs has taken me from just editing to designing post-workflows, handling other creative contractors and learning all aspects of post-production tasks to get the job done. It allowed me to write a book on editing, “How to Edit Videos People Want to Watch,” published in 2017, and to speak for Faster Together at Lumaforge at NAB 2018.
